Style Profile: Candice Collison, Founder Of "Of An Origin", Designs For All Stages Of Motherhood

We were able to take a moment to speak with Candice, the creator and lead designer of these fashionable nursing-friendly pieces, and ask her a few questions about the brand, her style as a busy working mom of (3!), and what’s next for Of an Origin.
What evoked you to start your own brand?
After I started Mod + Ethico, I built a business and a personal code for conscious fashion and lifestyle. While I was pregnant and nursing, I found a void in the space. I felt that maternity and nursing clothing was no better than fast fashion if I couldn't wear them beyond those fleeting yet all encompassing times in my life.
Can you tell us a little bit about your ideal customer?
Our ideal customer is a new mom who is passionate about minimalism and doing more with less. She loves fashion, but cares more about how she feels and her own personal style than following trends.
Tell us a bit about your style. How is your style reflected in the clothing you’ve designed?
I'm probably a bit of our ideal customer. I value function and comfort, and how pieces fit into my personal style more than trends.
What is your go-to Of an Origin piece in your closet right now?
I wear the entire Everywhere Collection on repeat, but I would have to say our Tee is my absolute go-to. I love how versatile it is and I nurse in it day-to-night, at home or out.
Is there an OAO combo you can’t get enough of?
I love pairing the wrap tank with our joggers, tucked in. It looks chic, but I'm comfortable and can easily breastfeed and pump as needed.
What is your proudest moment thus far as a business owner?
When I receive an email from a mama who thanks me for making clothes that work for early motherhood and make them feel amazing when nothing else was working. It's why I started the line.
